To locate, preserve, and index public and private genealogical records and to make those records available to the public;

     To provide education in, and encourage the practice of, genealogical research using the standards defined by the Board for Certification of Genealogists;

     To bring together individuals who are conducting genealogical research and to promote fellowship and cooperation among them.

SMVGS MISSION STATEMENT

• A Nominating Committee was chosen for our February voting: Bob Viadella, Stephanie Bishop, & Susie Marvos. Thank you very much for volunteering! Elections will be held at the Feb. mtg.


• Jan 19th, General Meeting, 2:15pm, at the SM FamilySearch Center. Dean Klitgard will be speaking about Vintage Santa Maria History and KCOY TV; Slate of officers will be presented.


• Feb 9th, Board Meeting (all are welcome), 2:30pm, SM FamilySearch Center and via Zoom.


• Feb 16th, General Meeting & Elections, 2:15pm, SM FamilySearch Center and via Zoom. The Filipino American National Historical Society will share a presentation with us about their history and culture.


• Feb 25th, Polish Genealogy Lecture Series, 9:00am, via Zoom. Register for $25 at www.paf-welcomehome.org.
