SANTA MARIA VALLEY

GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY & LIBRARY

Thank you for your interest in the Santa Maria Valley Genealogical Society & Library. Established in 1968, SMVGS is one of the oldest community-based genealogical societies in California.

SMVGS meetings are held at 2:15 pm on the third Thursday of the month from January through May and September through November. At our monthly meetings, we have informal sharing and informative programs concerning various aspects of genealogical research. Our members range from beginners in need of guidance to advanced researchers who are happy to share their experience.

The research books belonging to our organization are currently housed at the Santa Maria Public Library where they are mixed into the shelves with the Public Library's own genealogy collection. Our members volunteer by appointment through the Public Library at 805-925-0994. October is National Family History month when SMVGS oftentimes creates a display in the Library lobby window.

If you would like to support the work that our group is doing, we would very much like to have you join us.  Annual membership fees are: Individual $15, or Family $25.  We also offer a lifetime membership fee for $300. Please complete the attached membership application and return it with dues to the address below or bring the completed form and payment to our next in-person meeting.

We look forward to meeting you and having you as a member of the Santa Maria Valley Genealogical Society.  Please email if you have any questions.

Please send annual membership DUES to SMVGS, c/o Shirley Brady,

1386 Solomon Rd, Orcutt, CA 93455. Annual dues are paid each February.
